The Strengthening Capacities training program, carried out within the framework of the Forum of Amazonian Cities (FCA), implemented by ICLEI South America with technical and financial support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), aims to introduce public managers, technical staff, and other professionals to the fundamentals of designing climate and biodiversity conservation projects that are financially viable and aligned with key financing mechanisms.
Throughout the modules, participants will learn the essential components of a well-structured project — from understanding financing sources and their requirements to developing proposals with clear co-benefits, as well as addressing governance, monitoring, scalability, and risk management. The training also highlights the importance of climate action at the local and regional levels, encouraging integration across different levels of government and fostering social participation.
With accessible and applied content developed by field experts, this training is an essential first step for those seeking to transform ideas into concrete and fundable projects capable of generating positive impacts for climate and biodiversity.
